Real Income per Capita — methodology
Category: Economy & Jobs · Unit: AUD per person (quarterly, chain volume) · Published quarterly
What this metric measures
Real net national disposable income per person — the income Australians can spend and save, adjusted for prices and divided by the population, shown as a quarterly level.
Why it matters: GDP can grow while living standards stall if the extra income goes to falling terms of trade or a growing population. This measure shows what is left per person.
