GDP Growth — methodology
Category: Economy & Jobs · Unit: % change (quarterly) · Published quarterly
What this metric measures
Quarter-on-quarter growth in gross domestic product, chain volume (inflation-adjusted) and seasonally adjusted.
Why it matters: GDP is the broadest measure of the economy's output and income. Sustained growth means more jobs and higher living standards; contraction means recession.
