Fixed Mortgage Rate (3-Year): methodology
Category: Housing · Unit: % per annum · Published monthly
What this metric measures
The 3-year fixed interest rate on new owner-occupier housing loans from banks, from the RBA's indicator lending rates.
Why it matters: Fixed rates are what borrowers pay to lock in certainty; their gap to variable rates shows how the market expects rates to move.
