Contribution to Annual Inflation: methodology
Category: Cost of Living · Unit: percentage points · Published monthly
What this metric measures
How many percentage points each spending group adds to annual inflation. The contributions of the eleven main groups add up to the all-groups rate shown as the headline line.
Why it matters: A group can rise fast but matter little, or rise slowly and matter a lot because it takes a big share of household spending. Contributions show which prices are actually moving the headline rate.
