Average Age of the APS — methodology
Category: Government & Finance · Unit: years · Published annual
What this metric measures
The mean age of all Australian Public Service employees at 30 June each year.
Why it matters: An ageing public service concentrates experience — and future retirements. The average age shows how much of the workforce will turn over in the years ahead.
